Tanya Clark

Welcome to our website!  I am Tanya Clark, the principal at John S. Jones Elementary School. I am very excited to begin my ninth year as principal and am looking forward to a great school year.  I was a John Jones student myself at one time and it has been an honor to return here as an administrator. It is truly a blessing to work with such a caring staff and so many wonderful students.
I am a 1995 graduate of Jacksonville State University, where I earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary/Early Childhood Education.  I received a masters’ degree in Administration from The University of Alabama in 2005. I was a kindergarten teacher for nine years prior to coming to John Jones in 2006.  I taught at St. James Catholic School and G. W. Floyd Elementary where I was the 2004-2005 “Teacher of the Year”. I have been married to Paul Clark for almost 28 years. Paul and I have one daughter, Meagan, who is married to Jordan Morris. We have one precious granddaughter named Emmaline.
At John Jones Elementary School children really do come first. When you enter our doors, you will meet a professional, highly dedicated staff that strives to meet the needs of our children. We believe every child should be given the opportunity to develop academically, socially, physically, and emotionally. It takes all of us: students, parents, teachers, support staff, and community members working together to provide the optimal learning experience for our children. It is our goal to provide the best education possible for all students in a loving, caring environment. Please feel free to call or stop by for a visit.
