Assistant Principal

Mrs. Martinez

Welcome!  I am Amanda Martinez, the assistant principal at John S. Jones Elementary School. I am very excited to begin my eighteenth year in education.  I have been the assistant principal for three years and I am looking forward to a great school year.  I am truly blessed to work with such an amazing faculty, staff, and so many wonderful students.

I am a 2001 graduate of The University of Alabama, where I earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary/Early Childhood Education.  I received my first masters’ degree in Elementary Education and continued on to acquire a second masters’ degree in Administration as well as my Educational Specialist degree from The University of Alabama.  I taught kindergarten for twelve years, second grade for two years, and fifth grade for one year prior to coming to John Jones in 2017.

John S. Jones Elementary is an amazing school that always puts the child first.  Our faculty and staff go above and beyond to make sure students’ needs are met. I firmly believe in a strong home-to-school connection. By working together, we can make sure every child’s academic, social, and emotional needs are met.

I look forward to meeting you all during the upcoming school year. If you have any questions, please feel free to stop in, call, or email me as the year progresses.
